University School will largely follow the calendar of the Charleston County School District. The following is a list of key dates for the academic year:

2010-2011 Special Events

9/14 (Tues)... The USL community will have teams of students and community members organized to assist with Trident United Way's Day of Caring via projects across the county.

10/5 (Tues)... University School will host Kinobe and Soul Beat Africa for a performance at 10 AM in the gym. This 5-piece Ugandan band will play traditional instruments, sing songs, and tell stories of their homeland. It is appropriate for all ages and lasts about 45 minutes.

10/17 (Sun)... The USL community will have a game booth and help with clean-up at the Mount Pleasant Children's Festival at Park West Recreational Complex (12 PM-5 PM)

.....Open House for Prospective Families @ 6 PM

10/23 (Sat) .....The USL community will have an information booth and help with clean-up at Hibben's Fall Festival (10 AM-3 PM)

(Sat).....USL Board Retreat

11/16 (Tues).....USL community gathering for the James Island County Park's Holiday Festival of Lights

11/22 (Mon).....MS students will bring food dishes for a USL community lunch celebrating another culture

1/18 (Tues)... University School will host the Fabulous Chinese Acrobats for a performance at 10 AM in the gym. Presenting feats of extreme balance, contortion, and athletic skill, these teenage acrobats travel the world thrilling audiences and representing Chinese culture. It is appropriate for all ages and lasts about 45 minutes.

...Students & Mentors Activity (6:30-8:30 PM in the gym)

....Eighth Grade Graduation Dinner - eighth graders will cook and serve dinner for their families, USL faculty, and the Middle School in appreciation for their support and their experience at University School.

Summer Activities

USL hosts several activities in the summer to allow incoming students and interested families to spend time with members of the USL community (fellow students, faculty, teen and young adult mentors).
