Beep beep! Is 2025 the year for a brand-new car? If you're looking for durability, high ground clearance, rugged charm, and impressive all-wheel drive, a Subaru is your best and safest bet.

When you purchase or lease a Subaru between now and January 2, Subaru of America, Inc. and its retailers will donate a minimum of $300 to charity, like @Meals on Wheels America , for every vehicle leased or sold. That's right, just by purchasing a new vehicle, you can provide over 85 meals to a homebound neighbor in your community, at no extra cost! Learn more: www.mealsonwheelsamerica.org/sharethelove.

A BIG thank you to our friends at @Crews Subaru for sharing the love all year long! We are grateful for your support #ShareTheLove #MealsOnWheels

Over the last few weeks, we have been grateful to receive more than 2,500 donated items from you, our friends and community partners! Our volunteers could certainly make the cut for Santa's Workshop 🎅 — they lovingly curated 300+ holiday gift bags from all of your in-kind donations, including brand new blankets, soothing lotions, whimsical puzzles, first aid kits, and more. Thanks to you, our recipients will have a brighter holiday!

A special shout-out is in order for our volunteers who have answered the call over the last few weeks. From serving as substitute drivers and driving additional routes to spending extra quality time with homebound neighbors who may not get any other visits from loved ones over the holidays, your compassion makes a difference. THANK YOU!!!

The Christmas Elves have done it again! 🎅 Our spirited crew of volunteers just finished checking each gift bag twice to make sure they meet Santa's standards. It is our hope that these gifts and cards will bring joy to our homebound neighbors, many of whom will spend the holiday season alone.

To the Meals on Wheels Christmas Elves — thank you for showing up for your neighbors and getting us in the holiday spirit. Stay tuned for next week, when our volunteer drivers will make their gift deliveries to meal recipients!

Our friends from the Rotary Club of Daniel Island made a very special delivery this morning — two cars full of lovingly wrapped holiday gift bags for our homebound neighbors!

After our very own Christmas elves make their annual gift-wrapping descent next week, our volunteer drivers will get to play Santa by delivering gifts to all of the recipients on their routes. Imagine the looks on their faces when they discover fuzzy blankets, comfortable bathrobes, fun card games, jigsaw puzzles, crossword books, and more... These gestures, made possible by generous community partners and volunteers like you, show your homebound neighbors that they are not alone this holiday season.

Thank you to the Rotary Club of Daniel Island and to all of our East Cooper Meals on Wheels family who are helping us bring the holiday spirit to each and every recipient's home this year!

Thanks to YOUR support, our homebound neighbors will have meals this Thanksgiving and quality time with our superstar volunteers!

Our East Cooper Meals on Wheels family (humans AND pups!) showed up big time today to pack a holiday weekend's worth of delicious, nutritious meals, including roast turkey and dressing, savory meatloaf and sweet potatoes, and salmon with collard greens.

The most important ingredient on the weekend's menu? Love. When our recipients and their caregivers answer the door today, they'll be greeted with more than just a meal. Thanksgiving cards from caring neighbors, treasured conversations with devoted delivery drivers, and hugs to warm their spirits remind them: "You are not alone. You are loved. We've got your back."

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!

SPOTTED: Thanksgiving friends and Christmas Elves in the wild!

What many look forward to as a season of warmth and joy is often the loneliest time of the year for our homebound neighbors. Your expressions of care and connection -- whether through Thanksgiving cards, Christmas gifts from our donation list, or donations in support of our mission -- instill hope during challenging times. Thank you.

December 5 is the deadline for bringing in items from our recipient holiday gift donation list (see items on last image). Please contact our Recipient Services Manager, Cailee at 843-881-9350 or csprecher@ecmow.org to coordinate any holiday gift-giving efforts!

Do you remember the first time you felt the powerful impact of your kindness? It's a magical moment when a child realizes that they have the ability to make a difference in someone's life.

Hosting a healthy breakfast or snack food drive with Meals on Wheels is a fun way for youth to support their homebound neighbors. What's more, giving empowers kids to grow in leadership, creative thinking, and problem-solving. It's a win-win!

Here are the types of items your neighbors request (in single serving or individually packaged portions):

🥄 Instant grits & oatmeal
🥜 Trail mix, mixed nuts, & peanut butter
🥣 Granola bars, packets, & cereal cups
🍓 Belvita bars, fig bars, & fruit bars
🥫 Canned fruits, veggies, & fruit cups
☕ Decaf & regular coffee pods
🐾 Cat food (wet & dry)
🛍️ Medium gift bags & tissue paper

It’s easy to get started and a fantastic way for youth and their schools, teams, or groups to make a difference. You in?! Visit ecmow.org/get-involved/volunteer/volunteer-groups/ or email Cailee at cailee@ecmow.org for more info!
