It's time to wish Rhashad, our Operations Assistant, a HAPPY birthday! 🎉 We asked Rhashad a few questions to celebrate his special day...

Something most people at Meals on Wheels may not know about Rhashad? He is a musician, producer, and composer 🎵

What's Rhashad's perfect birthday meal? Rhashad is starting the day off with bacon, eggs, hashbrowns, grits, and sausage. At lunch, it's a club sub from Jersey Mike's for the win! On the dinner menu: steak, potatoes, broccoli, and crab cakes 🥩🥦🦀

Anyone joining you? Let's just say Rhashad will not be sharing any food today 😂 But he would invite Steve Jobs to lunch for the chance to pick his brain!

How about dessert? 🎂 Rhashad will NOT be partaking in birthday cake this year — that's because he'd rather have a key lime pie!

Yes, we love Rhashad's sense of humor, but we equally admire the depth of his soul. When it comes to what inspires Rhashad most in life, he shares that his failures inspire him and motivate him to become a better person. For this trip around the Sun, specifically, Rhashad wants to strive to be more understanding of things that don't affect him directly, and to keep focusing on becoming a better person ☀️

If you ask us, we think he's already exceptional. Happy Birthday, Rhashad! 💚

Over the last few weeks, we have been grateful to receive more than 2,500 donated items from you, our friends and community partners! Our volunteers could certainly make the cut for Santa's Workshop 🎅 — they lovingly curated 300+ holiday gift bags from all of your in-kind donations, including brand new blankets, soothing lotions, whimsical puzzles, first aid kits, and more. Thanks to you, our recipients will have a brighter holiday!

A special shout-out is in order for our volunteers who have answered the call over the last few weeks. From serving as substitute drivers and driving additional routes to spending extra quality time with homebound neighbors who may not get any other visits from loved ones over the holidays, your compassion makes a difference. THANK YOU!!!

The Christmas Elves have done it again! 🎅 Our spirited crew of volunteers just finished checking each gift bag twice to make sure they meet Santa's standards. It is our hope that these gifts and cards will bring joy to our homebound neighbors, many of whom will spend the holiday season alone.

To the Meals on Wheels Christmas Elves — thank you for showing up for your neighbors and getting us in the holiday spirit. Stay tuned for next week, when our volunteer drivers will make their gift deliveries to meal recipients!
