University School’s Life & Leadership course is led and taught by USL’s Head of School Jason Kreutner. Designed to address various aspects of our complex world and building a foundational knowledge and skill set to navigate it, Mr. Kreutner aims to develop students who have more than just strong academic skills. In Leadership & Life Skills, guidance is provided on a wide range of experiences, from meeting new people to preparing for an upcoming LOTC. L&L, as it is fondly called, is a cornerstone of building adults who are aware of the world and steeped in civics and students who are leaders and advocates. Some of the topics include:
Public Speakers
Mentoring
Current Events and Government
Geography
Online Learning
Learning Outside the Classroom
Faith and Culture
L&L Skills
Service and Life After University School
By curating a course designed to catch many of the soft skills and community aspects that may be either missed or only slightly addressed in traditional curriculums, USL is a pioneer in equipping students with the skills and first-hand knowledge they will need beyond the classroom and adolescence.
