What is Moodle?
Moodle is USL’s online school platform. We host it on our own server, and we make and then archive each year’s version.
What can you find on Moodle?
1. Curriculum Maps– Teachers post the curriculum maps for their course on Moodle for parents and students to access and review.
Curriculum maps are the plans we create and share and reflect our standards, expectations, and plans for our classes.
2. Assignments — How students keep track of homework and Moodle.
We give all of our students a daily calendar planner at the beginning of the year. Students write all assignments and place all monthly calendar info into their planners. Teachers give time during class for students to pull out their planners and transcribe their assignments into it.
Most assignments are posted on Moodle. This is a foundational commitment to our parents and students that are absent. They can check Moodle to see what assignments are due (and handouts, etc. can be posted here for them to download).
3. Posted work/links/papers so that students can get it on their own time
4. Grades are not posted on Moodle.
We believe a school with smart, kind, hard-working, and curious students should not post grades. We emphasize the skill wheel for each division.
Where can you find Moodle?
Moodle is called “student login” link on the bottom right of our website footer.
